Dr. Cook graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1996. She then decided to attend Penn State University School of Medicine where she graduated in 2001. Her residency was completed at the University of Pittsburgh in 2005. Dr. Cook joined the practice in 2007 and now is the owner of the practice. She has since broadened her scope of practice to include not only general ophthalmology but Specialty IOL Implants, Laser assisted Cataract Surgery, lesion removals, upper eyelid blepharoplasty, and aesthetic treatments.

After practicing in Butler for over 15 years, Dr. Derenzo joined our practice in June of 2020. She completed her residency training at Eye and Ear Institute in Pittsburgh. Dr. DeRenzo is also trained in general ophthalmology, Specialty IOL implants, Lasser assisted Cataract Surgery, Lesion removals, Upper eyelid Blepharoplasty and aesthetic treatments

Mark E. Schmidt, OD is certified by the American Board of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He is 1985 graduate of Laroche College and a 1990 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Schmidt is the only physician in our practice that performs contact lens fittings and with over 20 years of experience, he is very proficient at doing so. He also performs diabetic examinations, cataract evaluations, and treats many different types of anterior segment diseases.
